Day 1 : Pathankot  To Chamba

Arrive Pathankot Railway Station or bus stand  and drive to Chamba . In evening visit Laxmi Narayan Temple and Chamunda Temple after that go to hotel for an overnight stay .

 

Day 2 : Chamba To Bharmour Then Mani mahesh

In morning after Check-out from the hotel drive to Bharmour , on reaching Visit Chaurasi Temple and Bharmani Mata Temple (Total 06 Km Trek both side or by taxi) and on the same day go from Bharmour to Mani mahesh Lake (fly from Bharmour to Gauri kund by helicopter and 1 Km Trek to Mani mahesh). Overnight camping at Mani mahesh.

 

Day 3 : Mani mahesh To Bharmour Then Dalhousie.

After holy dip and  at Mani mahesh Lake go back from Gauri kund to Bharmour (1 Km Trek & then fly by Helicopter to Bharmour) and then drive to Dalhousie by taxi. On the way visit Khajjiar (Mini Switzerland of India). Dinner and overnight stay  at hotel.

 

Day 4 : Dalhousie To Pathankot

After breakfast visit local Market and drive to Pathankot. Tour ends with happy memories….

Yatra which will start on the day of Raksha Bandhan 15th August 2019  and ends on Radha Ashtami 6th September 2019.

Raksha Bandhan Sanan - 2019   :-  Raksha Bandan Sanan will be held on 15th August 2019 on the occasion of festival Raksha Bandan.

Krishan Janamastmi / Chota Sanan 2019 :- Chota snan will start on 24th August 2019 on the holy occasion of Janamastami.

Radha Ashtmi / Bada Sanan 2019 :- Bada Sanan will start on 6th September 2019 on the holy occasion of Radha Ashtmi.

Manimahesh Yatra Start Time

Manimahesh Yatra is held every year in the month of August or September. Devotees trek for two days to take a dip in the super natural Manimahesh Lake , known for the home of Lord Shiva.

The Manimahesh Yatra starts from Hadsar near Bharmour, located in Chamba Himachal Pradesh.

To facilitate this trek, pilgrims are provided with facilities of transport (jeeps up to road ends), food and medical facilities and so forth.

Manimahesh History and Mythology

According to a local myth, Lord Shiva is believed to reside in Manimahesh Kailash. A rock formation in the form of a Shivling on this mountain is considered as the manifestation of Lord Shiva. The snow field at the base of the mountain is called by the local people as Shiva’s play field.

It is said that no one could climb this pure peak because it is said to be abode by Lord Shiva. Once a cushion tried to climb the peak it was believed that he dream of Lord Shiva calling him on the peak and Lord Shiva asked him to cut the sheep on every step he takes but asked not to look back.

He started to climb the peak steps after steps kept cutting the lambs he was carrying with him but few steps before reaching the peak he got confused that he was not carrying many sheep he killed and turned back as soon as he looked back he turned into stone and couldn’t climb. Since then, no one has ever tried to climb this peak and thus it is a virgin peak.

 

How To Reach

The easiest and popular route to reach manimahesh  is from Pathankot / Chamba via  Bharmour.

After reaching bharmour you have  two options to go Manimahesh .

  1. By helicopter .
  2. By trekking.

Manimahesh Yatra helicopter service is available from Bharmour to Gaurikund & from Gaurikund to Bharmour. From Gaurikund Manimahesh lake  is 1.5 kms away that you can go by trekking .
